Aktionsaufruf zur Abstimmung über ACAA

Verhindern Sie jetzt die Umsetzung des neuen EU-Israel Handelsabkommens (ACAA)!

Am Dienstag, 23. Oktober 2012 stimmt das EU-Parlament über das Abkommen ab.

Die European Coordination of Committees and Associations for Palestine (ECCP) ruft all jene auf, die die Rechte der Palästinenser/innen unterstützen und Bürger oder Einwohner der EU sind, ihren Europaabgeordneten zu schreiben und sie aufzufordern gegen das neue Abkommen zu stimmen.

Mit Hilfe dieses Formulars kannst du / können Sie ganz bequem und schnell gleichzeitig an alle Europaabgeordnete aus der Bundesrepublik eine entsprechende e-mail schicken.

Im vergangenen Monat führten Organisationen und Aktivisten in ganz Europa gemeinsame Aktionen durch, um den Ausschuss für internationalen Handel des Europäischen Parlaments davon zu überzeugen,ein neues Handels-Protokoll mit Israel zu blockieren. Über 5,000 Personen unterzeichneten Petitionen und mehrere Hundert schrieben an ihre Europaabgeordneten. Die Abstimmung war äußerst knapp und wenn nur eine Abgeordnete oder ein Abgeordneter mehr mit uns gestimmt hätte, wäre das Abkommen blockiert worden.

Das Abkommen muss nun noch im Plenum des Europäischen Parlaments am 23. Oktober abgestimmt werden. Findet es die Mehrheit, dann wird das Assoziierungsabkommen zur Konformität und Zulassung industrieller Produkte (ACAA) die Schranken für den Handel mit industriellen und vor allem pharmazeutischen Produkten zwischen Israel und den Mitgliedsstaaten beseitigen. Die Abstimmung wird voraussichtlich sehr knapp werden.

Ein solches Abkommen würde die Beziehungen zwischen der EU und Israel stärken und Israel für seine fortgesetzten Verstöße gegen das Völkerrecht belohnen.

Stop the new EU-Israel trade protocol!

Last month, organisations and activists across Europe took action together to persuade the International Trade Committee of the European Parliament to block a new trade protocol with Israel. Thousands of people signed petitions and hundreds more wrote to their MEPs. The vote was very close and if just one more MEPs had voted with us, the agreement would have been blocked.

The agreement still has to be approved by a full vote of the European Parliament that will take place on October 23. If passed, the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) would remove barriers to trade between Israel and member states in industrial products, especially pharmaceuticals. The vote is likely to be close.

Such an agreement would strengthen EU-Israel relations and would reward Israel for its continued violations of international law.

The European Coordination of Committees and Associations for Palestine (ECCP) is asking supporters of Palestinian rights that are citizens or resident in the EU to write to their MEP urging them to vote against the new agreement.
